Bekah is a creative director and graphic designer with a focus in branding and events. Badilla's client work focuses on strong color theory, composition, illustration and narrative driven design. She's worked with renowned brands like Meta, Equinox, Kiki Milk, PepsiCo, WeWork, Laird Superfood, and Hu Kitchen, crafting unique brand events, product experiences, and installations. In her current design practice she is centering design justice, illustration and art direction.

As Creative director at Kiki Milk & PlantBaby, Badilla focused on art direction, strategic planning and management of all creative content. Elevating brand identity and design across web, email, social and advertising was the primary goal. Badilla spearheaded creative briefs and art direction for campaigns, video/photo shoots, animation, packaging and digital/print marketing. In addition to designing packaging, marketing materials and developing illustration identity, Badilla worked with independent contractors and agencies providing concepts, creative briefing and constructive feedback to reach the goals of a project and align seamlessly with the brand.

This visual brand identity was designed for a performing arts consulting business called Lanternist Creative Consulting. It was important to the client to communicate a welcoming and trustworthy brand. The logo emphasized his performance and writing experience with a logo mark that felt timeless and grounded while also hinting at the playful and uplifting approach that the consultancy offers.

For this brand new category product, I designed all creative and directed photo & video shoots to seamlessly incorporate the new product into our collection. I worked with the Marketing Director to identify key communication points and web teams to implement updates across our entire website, email and PR channels.

Art direction, design and installation
My role in this project encompassed creative direction, design, production monitoring and installation. From concept to execution I worked as the lead on the visual environment for the week long event partnership at WeWork HQ. I worked closely with our CMO and marketing team to design the entire experience and environment. I was in charge of the initial design proposal, environment assessment, visual collaboration with our partners on the WeWork member experience team, and final installation.

Laird Cafe

Codesigner | Concept, 3D mockups, and menu designs
Found at the intersection of retro Hawaiian and modern coffee shop, this cafe environment concept features nice simple finishes, paired with a modern take on vintage surf style. The environment creates an inclusive space that you know you are getting a quality product from. Picking a warm to cool color scheme, and a couple of tropical patterns, allows us to create lively graphics to pair with the sophisticated finishes—showing that we take our product serious, but we also enjoy what we do. This concept was a collaboration with my design colleague on concept work, including visual mood boards and ideation all the way through to final presentation. My individual contributions included the 3D mockups, as well as various assets including menu designs.
