Badilla has established herself as a multi-faceted illustrator, skilled at seamlessly integrating organic forms and a wide variety of illustration styles into her design work. In her personal and client projects, she demonstrates a keen eye for composition, shape language, and color theory. Approaching her illustrations with a design-centric mindset, Bekah distills them to their most essential elements. She believes that the key to evoking meaning and emotion lies in the spirit and narrative of each scene.

Holiday
For this holiday gifting campaign, Bekah created a series of illustrations for use on social media, web, and various marketing materials. Her flat-style illustrations, featuring a muted holiday palette, added a lighthearted personalization to the gifting experience. Collaborating with the Marketing Manager, she conceptualized different types of individuals within their target consumer base. The combination of an industrial sans serif font with festive script established a welcoming yet modern vibe, appealing to both older demographics seeking the familiarity of traditional holiday cheer and younger consumers desiring something fresh and on-trend—both aiming to make their holiday delights healthier.

Puchao
This project focused on creating stylized illustrations of a Japanese candy brand called “Puchao”. My goal was to create illustrations that reimagined the candies, transforming them from the more commercial packaging look and making them more appealing to modern consumers. To maintain a realistic representation of the product, I drew directly from life as opposed to a photo. I avoided hard outlines and used a soft textured brush to communicate the soft and carefree nature of the brand. I applied a muted pastel color palette with a beige background to make them inviting, youthful and fun

Logo
The designer collaborated with a small jewelry business to create a logo mark that complemented the existing word mark. This project also included the development of comprehensive brand guidelines. The process involved a thorough evaluation of the brand, its business objectives, and the target audience. The logo design skillfully incorporated the texture and shape of the brand's signature product—seal fur earrings—while reflecting the deep navy blues of Alaskan oceans, enhancing the overall identity of the business.
