I’m always seeking to expand my toolkit and connect with the human spirit by capturing the lightheartedness, simplicity and wonder that only illustration can bring. I’ve been doing a variety of studies in different styles, you’ll see the variation and exploration exemplified in my work below. Careful consideration of style, with a close attention to shape, medium and color is essential to evoking the right meaning and emotion.

Holiday Gifting Promo
For this holiday gifting campaign, I create a series of illustrations for use on social media, web and other marketing materials. This flat-style illustration using a muted holiday palette added a lighthearted personalization to gifting. I worked with the Marketing Manager to conceptualize different types of people within our target consumer base. The industrial san serif paired with the festive script created a welcoming yet modern vibe. This appealed to both older demographics looking for the familiarity of traditional holiday cheer and a younger demographic wanting something fresh and on trend—both looking to make holiday delights healthier.
Series of product illustrations
Concept and design (personal project)
This project focused on creating stylized illustrations of a Japanese candy brand called “Puchao”. My goal was to create illustrations that reimagined the candies, transforming them from the more commercial packaging look and making them more appealing to modern consumers. To maintain a realistic representation of the product, I drew directly from life as opposed to a photo. I avoided hard outlines and used a soft textured brush to communicate the soft and carefree nature of the brand. I applied a muted pastel color palette with a beige background to make them inviting, youthful and fun!
Instagram highlight icons
Design & illustration
For this project, I worked with the Laird Superfood marketing team to design eight icons for the highlight section on Instagram. The objective was to align the icons to our brand, by crossing surfer lifestyle with healthy/organic living. After combing through several sketches for each category, we narrowed our options based on best visual representation. The icons were initially hand-drawn giving them a weathered and natural feel. To ensure the icons were easily communicated on a small digital scale, I offset the roughness of the drawings with a simple three-value monochrome palette. The icons were strong enough to have a versatile application, and were used on instagram and beyond.
Illustration for small business logo and brand guideline
I worked with a small jewelry business to add a logo mark to their existing word mark. Along with the illustration, I created a brand guideline for the business. The process included an evaluation of her brand, her objectives for the business, and her target audience. The logo incorporated the texture and shape of her main product, seal fur earrings and the deep navy blues of Alaskan oceans.
